My teammate Solmaz Kalali and I tried to make a clear distinction between three kinds of residential buildings in the city of Mashhad. Those on quiet backwaters on twisting paths, are physically secluded, ensuring that the more public houses are placed in hectic streets with many people passing by all day long and that the houses themselves are relatively exposed to the passengers. The in-between houses are located on the paths halfway between the other two.
